Terms of Service

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. By creating an account, booking an appointment, or otherwise accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Agreement" or "Terms") constitute a legally binding contract between you and Pivot Habit, LLC d/b/a Grab My Slot ("Grab My Slot," "Company," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the website located at GrabMySlot.com and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
The Platform enables licensed contractors, tradespeople, and home service professionals ("Contractors") to collect deposits and trip charges from consumers who book service appointments ("Customers"). Different provisions of these Terms apply specifically to Contractors, to Customers, or to both, as indicated.
Users under the age of 18 are not permitted to use or register for the Platform.
2. Modifications to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide notice by updating the "Last Revised" date, posting a prominent notice on the Platform, and/or sending an email to the address on file. Material changes take effect thirty (30) days after notice. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
3. Nature of the Platform
Grab My Slot is a technology platform that facilitates the collection of deposits and trip charges on behalf of Contractors. Grab My Slot does not itself provide plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or any other trade or home-service work. Grab My Slot is not a contractor, licensed tradesperson, or home services provider.
Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, joint venture, or partnership relationship between Grab My Slot and any Contractor. Contractors are independent businesses solely responsible for their work, licensing, insurance, and compliance with all applicable laws.
Customers acknowledge that Grab My Slot is not a party to any service agreement between a Customer and a Contractor. All disputes regarding the quality, scope, or completion of work must be resolved directly between the Customer and the Contractor.
4. Contractor Accounts
4.1 Eligibility Requirements
To register as a Contractor, you must at all times:
- Be a legal resident of, or a legally registered business entity in, the United States.
- Hold all licenses, bonds, certifications, and permits required by applicable law for the trade services you offer.
- Maintain general liability insurance in amounts customary for your trade and jurisdiction.
- Operate a legitimate, lawful business that complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
4.2 Account Registration and Accuracy
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update that information as necessary. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@grabmyslot.com of any unauthorized access.
4.3 Contractor Obligation to Provide Service
By accepting a booking and collecting a deposit or trip charge, a Contractor commits to arrive at the scheduled time, perform the agreed-upon service in a professional manner, hold all required licenses, communicate promptly with the Customer, and comply with all applicable laws.
4.4 Rescheduling by Contractors
A Contractor may reschedule without penalty if they give the Customer at least 24 hours' written notice through the Platform and propose at least two alternative appointment windows within seven (7) calendar days. Repeated rescheduling with less than 24 hours' notice may result in account suspension or termination.
4.5 Deposit and Trip Charge Parameters
Contractors may set their own deposit and trip charge amounts within any limits established by Grab My Slot. Deposits are held by Stripe pending completion of the appointment. Grab My Slot's fee will be deducted prior to disbursement. All deposit and trip charge terms displayed to Customers must be accurate and honestly describe what the charge covers.
5. Customer Accounts — Booking and Cancellation
5.1 Booking an Appointment
By completing a booking and authorizing a deposit or trip charge, a Customer enters into a binding appointment agreement with the applicable Contractor. The Customer agrees to be present at the service address at the scheduled time, provide safe access to the work area, and pay any remaining balance for services rendered separate from the deposit.
5.2 Cancellation by Customers
Customer cancellations are subject to the Contractor's stated cancellation policy, which will be displayed at the time of booking. If a Customer cancels within the Contractor's stated non-refundable cancellation window, the deposit or trip charge is non-refundable. If a Customer cancels outside the cancellation window or the Contractor fails to appear, a full refund will be issued.
5.3 Customer No-Show Policy
6. Fees and Payments
6.1 Platform Fee
Grab My Slot charges a platform fee of three percent (3%) of each deposit or trip charge processed through the Platform. This fee is deducted automatically from each transaction before disbursement to the Contractor. In addition, Stripe's standard payment processing fees apply (currently 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for standard card transactions), charged directly by Stripe. Grab My Slot does not mark up Stripe's processing fees.
6.2 Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor. By using the Platform, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Grab My Slot is not responsible for any errors, delays, or failures in payment processing attributable to Stripe or to your financial institution.
6.3 Refunds
Refunds are processed in accordance with the applicable Contractor's cancellation policy and these Terms. All approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method within five (5) to ten (10) business days, subject to your financial institution's processing times.
6.4 Disputes
If a Customer believes a charge is unauthorized or incorrect, the Customer must contact Grab My Slot at support@grabmyslot.com within thirty (30) days of the charge. Grab My Slot will investigate and, where appropriate, facilitate a resolution. Initiating a chargeback with your financial institution without first contacting Grab My Slot may result in suspension of your account.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Impersonate any person or entity or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Provide false, inaccurate, or misleading information during registration or when creating a booking.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security features of the Platform.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform or its related systems.
- Use the Platform to transmit spam, unsolicited communications, or malicious code.
- Engage in any conduct that could damage, disable, or impair the Platform or interfere with any other User's use of the Platform.
- Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to access or interact with the Platform without our written consent.
8. Intellectual Property
The Platform and all content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to software, text, images, trademarks, logos, and designs) are owned by Grab My Slot or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform solely for its intended purpose.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or exploit any part of the Platform without our prior written consent.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
The Platform integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payment processing), Google Calendar, and Microsoft Outlook/Exchange (calendar integration), and Twilio (SMS communications). Your use of these third-party services is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Grab My Slot is not responsible for the practices, content, or availability of third-party services.
10. Disclaimers
Grab My Slot does not warrant the quality, safety, legality, or fitness for any purpose of the services provided by Contractors. Grab My Slot does not verify that Contractors hold the licenses or insurance they represent themselves as holding.
11. Limitation of Liability
12. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
12.1 Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to contact Grab My Slot at support@grabmyslot.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve your concerns within thirty (30) days.
12.2 Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. The arbitration shall be conducted in English.
12.3 Class Action Waiver
12.4 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Subject to the arbitration agreement above, any litigation shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Grounds for termination include, without limitation, violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, failure to maintain required licenses or insurance, or conduct harmful to other Users or to the Platform.
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including Sections 8 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), and 12 (Dispute Resolution).
14. Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Grab My Slot regarding the Platform.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
- Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
- Notices: All notices to Grab My Slot must be sent to support@grabmyslot.com.
